Banjo Catfish (Bunocephalus coracoideus)

The Banjo Catfish is an unusual medium sized catfish, adults will typically reach 5-6 inches long however due to their very small mouths and sedentary lifestyle they can be kept with many smaller tank mates especially those that tend to stay away from the bottom of the tank though they will eat small species of shrimp. It is important to note these fish will not do much in the way of movement and will be even less active in the daytime. Still, they can make a unique addition to the bottom of your tank and help sift through fallen debris without posing a danger to all but the smallest tank mates.
