Electric Blue Jack Dempsey Cichlid (Rocio octofasciata)

Jack Dempsey Cichlids are one of the most popular large cichlids in the aquatic industry. They typically reach 10" or so, though the electric blue variant often stays a bit smaller and will live upwards of 10 years with proper care. They are notoriously aggressive and will often wreak havoc on any plants or decorations small enough for them to move. While their color and pattern often change with age, they frequently have a beautiful iridescence to their scales that makes them an attractive addition to any tank able to deal with their unruly behavior.
