Panda Garra (Garra flavatra)

The Panda Garra is a small to medium sized bottom feeder that happily spends its day grazing the surfaces of tanks for biofilm, it generally reaches about 3-3.5" inches and is a mostly peaceful fish, however they can sometimes attempt to suck off a bit of slime coat from flat sided fish such as Skirt tetras or Colombian tetras when food is scarce. They are a social fish and prefer to be in groups. Their talent for cleaning surfaces is so renowned that a similar species, the Red Garra is sometimes used for exotic manicures. Both of these species are adapted for eating biofilm from surfaces and lack teeth and as a result Panda Garra can be used this way as well.
