Rainbow Dace (Cyprinella lutrensis)

The Rainbow Dace is a surprisingly colorful species of small fish, only growing 3.5" long, native to North America, as a result it is a cold hardy fish which makes it a great option for porch ponds too small for goldfish. While only males develop the blue color with bright red contrast they will do so best in the presence of females.
